Join GSBA and Jen Carl for a Capitol Hill safety webinar featuring Dr. Amy Barden, Chief of Seattle’s CARE (Community Assisted Response & Engagement) Department. We’ll break down how Seattle routes 9-1-1 and non-emergency calls, when CARE community crisis responders are deployed, and what this evolving model means for neighborhood safety and effective response.
Dr. Amy Barden is the first Chief of Seattle’s CARE Department and directs the work of Seattle 9-1-1 and CARE community crisis responders. With 20 years in human services leadership across multiple states and advanced degrees in ethical leadership, administration, and organizational learning, she most recently completed a doctorate at Vanderbilt University focused on data science and behavioral research.
CARE is Seattle’s third branch of public safety, alongside the Seattle Police Department and Seattle Fire Department, and operates the 9-1-1 Communications Center and the Community Crisis Responder (CCR) Team.
