How can the design of a space influence safety? Join GSBA and Neighborhood Safety Coordinator Jen Carl for a practical, one-hour virtual training on Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED)—a proactive approach to reducing crime and promoting safer, more welcoming public and private spaces.

CPTED is a multi-disciplinary strategy that uses environmental design, community input, and smart management of public spaces to deter criminal behavior. This session will walk participants through CPTED’s key principles—from natural surveillance and access control to community activation and guardianship—and how they apply to your business, storefront, or public-facing space.

Whether you're a small business owner, property manager, or local advocate, this training offers tools you can put to use immediately to assess and improve the safety of your environment.
