Data Privacy in a Wireless World

Tuesday, January 27, 2026 (11:30 AM - 1:00 PM) (PST)

Description

In this workshop we take a look at protecting ourselves and our data across a routinely ignored risk surface, wireless. From your home to class or the office, we are constantly broadcasting and interacting with multiple wireless technologies, many of which carry significant risk to your data. Come join us for a discussion about the security concerns associated with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Sidewalk, Zigbee, Thread, NFC/RFID, and Cellular.

Participants will:

- Learn about data “over-the-air” (OTA)

- Discover methods and resources to mitigate personal/professional wireless risk

- Gain new insight about the invisible digital risk all around us

Facilitated by: Maxine Filcher, ioActive

Designed for: Community Members, Community Providers, Employers, Educators and Students
