Did you know that Washington State has a hotline to report hate and bias incidents?
Washington has been in the top 5 states with the most reported hate and bias incidents since 2018. Now, GSBA has worked in coalition with other community organizations to help our state set up a hotline where folks can report hate and receive community-focused support.
Join Gabriel Neuman, Director of Policy and Advocacy at GSBA, and Alexis Lopez, Policy Analyst on the Anti-Hate Policy Team in the Office of the Washington State Attorney General Nick Brown, to learn more about this hotline and have a chance to get your questions answered.
What you may not know about the hotline
You can report an incident that happened to you or something you witnessed.
The hotline can help connect people with local, culturally relevant, trauma-informed, and victim-centered resources.
The hotline is not the police and will not report an incident to law enforcement without your permission.
You can decide how much or how little personal information you want to share.
Interpretation is available in more than 240 languages.
Bias incidents that do not rise to the level of a crime can still be reported.
About the current pilot program
The hotline is currently being piloted in King, Clark, and Spokane counties and is scheduled to expand statewide on January 1, 2027.
