About

Pike Place Market is home to 500+ small businesses that include restaurants, eateries, a world-class handmade Crafts Market, Farmers Market and amazing one-of-a-kind retail stores across nine acres. Plus five amazing social services onsite which include a senior center, childcare center, food bank, health clinic, senior housing and home to 450 low income and senior residents. The Market was founded in 1907 and is one of the oldest continuously operating public markets in the U.S.

The Pike Place Market Preservation and Development Authority (PDA), a not-for-profit public organization, was charted by the city in 1973 to preserve, rehabilitate and protect buildings within the Market, increase the opportunities for farm and food retailing, support small and marginal businesses, and provide services for low-income individuals.
