Seven Star provides martial arts training for gender-marginalized individuals.  We welcome trans, nonbinary, gender-expansive people of any gender and all women (trans and cis) to train at Seven Star. Students must be 13 years or older to train at our school.  We offer self defense training for all populations in our greater Seattle community.  Seattle nonprofit since 1981. We are located in the Central District at 21st/James.

Our historic name is Seven Star Women’s Kung Fu, but we do business as Seven Star. We are more than a community of women; we are a gender-diverse community of martial artists. We believe in challenging each other to push the extent of our skills and abilities and to find our strength and confidence through martial arts. We offer work study, sliding scale dues, and dues assistance to enable individuals to train at our school. Interested in a self defense class? We offer quarterly free or pay what you can community self defense classes. Self defense is for everyone! You are worth defending.  Learn what is powerful and strong in your body to protect yourself and your communities. Self defense is for all bodies, all abilities, and all backgrounds.  Nobody is turned away for lack of funds. Interested in a small group, community, or corporate self defense class?
