The My Health My Data Act (MHMD) is a new Washington law that all businesses and nonprofits should be aware of: it requires all small businesses and nonprofits to significantly expand their privacy protections for personal health data by June 30th, 2024. 

The law, passed by the Washington State Legislature in 2023, was developed to protect a consumer’s sensitive health data from being collected and shared without that consumer’s extent. It covers a large scope of organizational practices that touch nearly every small business and nonprofit.
