Trans & Nonbinary Swim!
Sunday, September 21, 2025 (3:00 PM - 6:00 PM) (PDT)
Description
A FREE opportunity to engage in aquatics for our radiant trans and nonbinary community! RSVP at: https://givebutter.com/MdXoM6.
Pride Across the Bridge works hard to provide inclusive and affirming spaces for transgender and nonbinary individuals to come together, celebrate their identities, and enjoy the camaraderie and joys of swimming, that may be taken for granted by many in our community. We know the hurdles many in our trans and nonbinary community face, and whether it's body dysphoria, or self-conscious body image keeping you from the water, join your community who understands and live out your aquatic dream! We offer a supportive environment where everyone can feel welcomed and respected, regardless of their gender identity or expression. Our events are designed to foster a sense of community, belonging, and joy, allowing participants to connect with like-minded individuals, share experiences, and build lasting friendships. :)
We are a volunteer-driven organization committed to promoting the well-being and visibility of the trans and nonbinary community through engaging and accessible events. Our team is comprised of passionate individuals dedicated to creating positive change and celebrating diversity. Whether you're a seasoned swimmer or dipping your toes in the water for the first time, Pride Across the Bridge welcomes you to join us in making waves and embracing the beauty of our shared journey.

Accessibility~
The Bellevue Aquatic Center has built-in ladders, steps, and a wheelchair-accessible ramp to offer various methods for entering the pool. In addition to ladders at both the shallow and deep ends, portable stairs can also be added to either area upon request. The facility has one mobility lift chair with a 500 lb weight capacity located in the shallow end, operated by trained lifeguards. Guests are encouraged to use whichever locker room or restroom aligns with their identity and comfort.
If you or someone attending with you has any accessibility needs not already covered, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are happy to explore solutions together to ensure everyone can participate with ease and dignity.
Guidelines~
In our swim meetups, inclusivity and respect are paramount. We operate under a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination, harassment, or hate speech based on gender identity, sexual orientation, race, or any other discrimination against your human beings. We ask all participants to respect each other's pronouns and to contribute to a positive and supportive atmosphere. Privacy and personal boundaries are to be respected at all times.
All-ages welcome – attendees under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Kids may be asked to take a swim test (especially if under 14 or needing additional support)
No personal photography will be allowed to maintain a safe environment for everyone's comfort, unless explicitly notified by event hosts with permission from everyone in the shot.
This is a free event for our community—because joy, connection, and gender-affirming space shouldn’t come with a price tag. We’re proud to offer this swim night at no cost to attendees, and we mean it: no gatekeeping, no strings attached. Just show up, be yourself, and enjoy.
That said, these events do come with real costs. If you're in a position to donate and help support equitable aquatics access, your contribution makes a genuine impact. Donations of any amount are welcome and appreciated, and they help ensure we can continue to offer events like this throughout the year.
Thank you for supporting this work in whatever way you're able—whether that's showing up, donating, or spreading the word. We’re in this together.
