Uplift Community Talk: A Neighborhood Safety Conversation

Uplift Community Talk: A Neighborhood Safety Conversation

Friday, May 8, 2026 (5:00 PM - 7:00 PM) (PDT)

Description

Uplift Northwest is hosting its second community conversation and mixer to foster meaningful connections amongst local businesses, nonprofits, Belltown and downtown community members. This community engagement centers on collective action, collaboration, and building momentum for a resilient and safer Belltown and Seattle. We have convened representatives from public safety, business, and non-profit organizations to share their perspectives and vision for the future. Let us create a safe space to discuss real, shared challenges impacting our neighborhoods including safety, litter, graffiti, homelessness, and other concerns affecting Belltown and Seattle as a whole. We will also take time to reflect on progress since our last gathering in June 2025, acknowledging both accomplishments and ongoing roadblocks. Light appetizers and refreshments will be provided to support conversation and connection! Voices from the community include: Carmen Best, Former Chief of Police, City of Seattle Scott Lindsay, Former Seattle Deputy City Attorney, ULNW Board President Denise Moriguchi, President and CEO of Uwajimaya Lisa Nitze, Chair & Principal, Chair & Principal, Nitze-Stagen Yvonne Underwood, Deputy Chief of Police, Seattle Police Department
