SUPERVISION EXERCISED: May assist in supervising interns, including contributing to their hiring, training and evaluation. 

LOCATION: Seattle, WA

Grade/Class: Grade F, Exempt, PSA-Eligible

PRIMARY FUNCTION: 

 

ADL Pacific Northwest is seeking an Associate Regional Director to join our growing team. We are seeking an individual who is dynamic, organized, and dedicated to lead many of our region's programmatic efforts, including hate incident response, law enforcement relationships, and advocacy. This Associate Regional Director will work hand in hand with the Regional Director to ensure ADL Pacific Northwest is working with a variety of stakeholders to deliver programs and services and serving our communities. 

Responsibilities

Primary:

  • Receive and respond to constituents who report antisemitism or other forms of bias to ADL. Initiate contacts, conduct research, and work with civil rights legal counsel and other ADL experts as appropriate. Collect and categorize data.  
  • Manage the legislative efforts of ADL Pacific Northwest, including working with local, state and federal elected officials and community organizations on policy matters. 
  • Manage law enforcement engagement for ADL Pacific Northwest, building relationships with and leading law enforcement committee. 
  • Manage ADL's young professional leadership program, the Glass Leadership Institute, working to recruit young leaders and manage the program. 
  • Work with ADL staff to respond to inquiries from the press and from members of the public, demonstrating authoritative knowledge of ADL’s policies and positions and relevant local, national and world events.
  • Represent ADL and give speeches in a variety of forums and meetings to promote public awareness of ADL’s mission. 
  • Serve as liaison to ADL's Pacific Northwest Board, leading committee work and presenting at meetings. 

Secondary:

  • Assist in the recruitment and supervision of interns. Ensure the smooth-functioning of the regional office. 
  • Some travel and evening speaking engagements may be required. 

Qualifications

Skills:

  • Strong communications, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders and communities. 
  • Strong public speaking and writing skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in fast paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint).
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms (i.e. Twitter, Facebook)

 

Work Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible human relations or community service experience including program and operational management experience.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus additional related college courses or equivalent professional training.

 

Work Environment: 

  • ADL COVID-19 Protocol (updated periodically)ADL is adhering to public health guidance regarding COVID-19. ADL will require that all employees are vaccinated with exceptions for medical and religious accommodations. ADL is requiring proof of vaccination. ADL is a hybrid environment; this role may require 3 days in the office. OR (depending on role) ADL is a hybrid environment, though this role may be performed remotely. 

 

Compensation:

  • This position has a salary range of $60,000 to $85,000. This salary range is reflective of a position based in Seattle, WA. Please note that actual salaries are commensurate with experience and reflect the budget for a given position, and since ADL has a location-based compensation structure, there may be a different range for candidates in other locations. For an overview of our total rewards package, please visit https://www.adl.org/about/careers.
