GSBA is hiring a Business Training Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

This position is designed to increase visibility for GSBA’s business and inclusion training, consulting and technical assistance program, as well as provide direct access and deliver training to support the small business and nonprofit community.

Main areas of work include:

Business Training & Technical Assistance Leadership

  • Partner with the Director of Training and Consulting on complex coaching engagements and strategic program initiatives.
  • Assist the Director of Business Training and Consulting in leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of GSBA's business training, coaching, and technical assistance programs.
  • Deliver business consulting services through both workshops and one-on-one engagements.
  • Assess participant needs and develop customized support strategies to foster business growth and organizational sustainability.
  • Ensure participants receive high-quality resources, tools, and follow-up support to maximize outcomes.
  • Represent GSBA at community events, conferences, networking opportunities, and stakeholder meetings.

Inclusion Training & Curriculum Coordination

  • Delivery of GSBA's inclusion training programs to businesses, nonprofits, public agencies, corporate entities, and community organizations.
  • Facilitate engaging in-person and virtual workshops that advance equity, inclusion, belonging, and cultural competency.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with GSBA leadership and staff to align programmatic efforts with organizational priorities.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, partnership development, and organizational initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of inclusion, collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Support the identification and cultivation of strategic partnerships that strengthen GSBA's programs and community impact.
  • Monitor program performance, track outcomes, and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Grants Manager to provide accurate data, reporting, and impact measurement.
  • Maintain accurate records of outreach, training participation, coaching engagements, and program outcomes through GrowthZone (GSBA’s CRM) and related systems.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to inform strategic decision-making and program improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with LGBTQ and diverse populations and a passion for small business
  • Commitment to GSBA, understanding the importance of small business, social justice values, and a personal commitment to equity and inclusion.
  • Fulfill agreed-upon in-office, hybrid, and remote work expectations while ensuring accessibility and responsiveness to colleagues, partners, and clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal, strong organizational and project management skills, including a passion for detail and follow-through with an ability to take initiative, work independently, or as a helpful team member.
  • A demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and be composed under pressure.
  • A natural communicator who enjoys presenting to large groups and can confidently deliver content that resonates with diverse audiences
  • Detail oriented to track engagement for communications and reporting
  • Requires public speaking and training in front of large groups
  • This job requires coordination and collaboration with GSBA Team Members to meet clients off-site
  • Regular local and regional travel is required to support training delivery, outreach efforts, community engagement, and client meetings.

Salary

Salary is $60,000-$70,000 depending on experience and qualifications. Excellent employer paid benefits include medical and dental, and  option to invest in an individual retirement account with an employer match.
