Summary:
The Valet tech is primarily responsible for the cleaning and routine (non-electrical) maintenance of customer hot tubs. This includes working with basic hand tools and light power tools to perform cleaning services and minor repairs to accessory items attached to the hot tub. Occasional delivery and installation of replacement hot tub covers, and accessories is also required. This position is supplied a company van with tools, works from home, and works outdoors in all weather conditions. Will have the opportunity to acquire a specialty electrician’s license and potential to become outside service tech through the accrual of training hours, company paid Continuing Education courses, and successful completion of state required testing.
Responsibilities:
• Maps & routes individual daily service calls and communicates time windows to customers one business day prior via text or email
• Performs basic hot tub cleaning and maintenance functions including flushing, draining, cleaning, & detailing the hot tub, hot tub cover, filters, etc.
• Performs passive testing using basic functions checks to ensure buttons, controls, and equipment operate normally
• Tests and adjust water chemistry to ensure a safe environment for both the hot tub and the customer
• Provides orientation on hot tub operation and maintenance to customers
• Uses basic hand tools to perform installations/ repairs of add-on accessory items including steps, lifters, safety rails, etc.
• Tracks and documents all inventory used during service appointments using the tablet and service app provided and submits restock orders to the Valet Coordinator for resupply
• Restocks van shelves, bins and other stock sites using First In, First Out method
• Works with customers to understand their individual requirements and makes recommendations about additional products or services that they need or that would add to the enjoyment of their hot tub
• Uses field automation systems including Evosus Mobile and Watkins Access
• Produces accurate and thorough valet service reports by completing detailed service orders on mobile device.
• Works with the shipping and inventory supervisor to maintain accurate inventory and restocking levels
• Maintains cleanliness of service van using clean as you go (CAYG) and end-of-day task lists
• Ensures vehicle is maintained at factory recommended intervals
• Other tasks and duties as required
Skills and Abilities Required
• Possess mechanical aptitude and ability to master diagnostic and repair techniques
• Able to analyze information, develop courses of action, & produce accurate reports
• Able to read, write, and communicate effectively using English
• Able to solve problems using critical thinking skills
• Possess intermediate math skills for water care adjustments and inventory management
• Able to successfully manage and follow up on multiple simultaneous projects
• Able to stand for long periods, kneel, stoop, bend, reach, etc.
• Able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds
• Able to occasionally lift up to 100 pounds
• Able to use a computer and various business software including Outlook and Excel
• Able to safely operate hand tools and light power tools
• Able to safely operate company vehicle
• Must possess a current, valid, Washington State driver’s license with no more than one minor moving violation during the previous three years.
