Warehouse Assistant
Summary:
The Warehouse Assistant reports to the Warehouse lead and supports company operations through shipping and receiving, stocking, and organizing inventory, picking and preparing orders for shipment or delivery, and maintaining the overall cleanliness of the warehouse along with other general warehouse duties. The Warehouse Assistant also frequently operates the forklift, pallet jacks, and other material handling tools. Primarily works indoors in a warehouse environment with some outdoor work required.
Responsibilities:
• Picks, organizes, and loads product sales orders using forklift, pallet jacks, and picking carts
• Picks, packages, and labels for shipping; e-commerce orders using computer and shipping software
• Receives UPS, FEDEX, Truckload, & LTL product shipments
• Verifies shipments by item code and piece count using appropriate documents and procedures
• Restocks warehouse shelves, bins and other stock sites using First In, First Out method
• Works with the Warehouse Lead and other management to maintain accurate inventory and restocking levels
• Works with the Warehouse Lead and Warehouse Manager to fulfill customer product deliveries and loading of delivery vendor
• Assists with picking, packing, & staging of parts & supply orders for Service & Valet Technicians
• Operates and maintains company forklift, vans, and box truck
• Maintains cleanliness of the warehouse using clean as you go (CAYG) and end-of-day task lists
• Other tasks and duties as required
Skills and Abilities Required
• Able to read, write, and communicate effectively using English
• Able to solve problems using critical thinking skills
• Able to successfully manage multiple competing priorities
• Able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds
• Able to occasionally lift up to 100 pounds
• Able to use a computer and various business software including Outlook and Excel
• Able to safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklift, pallet jacks, and picking carts
• Possess intermediate math skills for order picking, stocking, and inventory management
• Possess a valid Washington State Driver’s License with no more than one, minor moving violation
• Able to be insured on company insurance
